Ryman Auditorium

Located on 5th Avenue, this was the home of the Grand Ole Opry 1943-74. Originally built as a religious tabernacle through funding provided by riverboat captain Tom Ryman, it later became a theater where world-famous performers including Sarah Bernhardt, Enrico Caruso, Orson Welles and Mae West appeared. The 1892 building, renovated in 1994, is a 2,100 seat performance hall featuring both classical and concert series, bluegrass shows, musical theater and television tapings.

Open daily 8:30am-4pm; closed major holidays.
