State Capitol

This Greek Revival structure built in 1859 was designed by William Strickland. The grounds feature many statues and markers including an equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson and statues of Sam Davis and Alvin York. Also located on the Capital grounds are the tombs of James K. Polk, the 11th President, and his wife.
