Trousdale Place

Located on West Main Street, this was constructed in the early 1800s. The two story brick structure was the home of William Trousdale, who served in the War of 1812, the 1836 Seminole War in Florida and the Mexican War. Awarded the rank of brigadier general, Trousdale was later elected governor of Tennessee. The house contains a small library of military history, Confederate mementos, and clothing and furnishings belonging to the governor and Mrs. Trousdale.

Open Wednesday through Saturday 9am-4:30pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm; closed major holidays.
