Bartlett's first municipal light plant was built in 1936. It was the first in the nation to extend municipal light service to a 15- to 20-mile radius around the city limits, with REA (the Rural Electrification Administration) loans. The museum is housed in the building and features original Fairbanks- Morse diesel electric generators, and exhibits, antiques & artifacts of the town's early history.
