Bastrop State Park |
Bastrop State Park, located one mile east of Bastrop on Texas 21, also accessible from the east on Texas 71, was opened in 1937. Original improvements were made by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It is the site of the famous "Lost Pines," an isolated timbered region of loblolly pines and hardwoods. The park provides opportunities for backpacking, camping, picnicking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and other recreation. A golf course, operated by the Lost Pines Golf Club, is one of the finest and most scenic in Central Texas.
