Cooper Lake

19,000-acre impoundment on the South Sulphur River. Though only recently completed (1993) fishermen are already having good catches. A four-lane boat ramp near the dam at Tira access and a two-lane ramp at Johns Creek Access near Klondike. Cooper Lake State Park has two units: Doctor's Creek unit on the northside offers camping, boat ramps, swimming beach and picnic facilities; the South Sulphur unit provides the same amenities. Lake is expected to be good for bass, crappie, catfish and bluegill.
