Fannin Battleground State Historic Park

On this site on March 20, 1836, Colonel J W Fannin surrendered himself and 284 of his men after the Battle of Coleto. Although expecting to be treated as prisoners of war, Fannin, his soldiers and others were executed as traitors near what is now Goliad State Historical Park.

Activities in this day-use park include historical study and picnicking. Facilities include restrooms, picnic sites and a playground.
