This is a 31-acre preserve with more than 1,500 specimens representing more than 400 species, including nearly 50 endangered. Moats, streams, rocks and cavelike structure seperate the animals. Animals include Jaguars, Galapagos tortoises, spider monkeys and Cuban crocodiles . Indo-Australia is home to orangutans, grey kangaroos, kookaburras and wallabies. The Asia environments features Sumatran tigers, gibbons, Indian blue peafowl and Bactrian camels. Popular residents of the Africa area include reticulated giraffes, elephants, zebras, lions, gorillas, chimpanzees and the rare Jentik's duiker antelope.

The Herpetarium and Aquatic Wing contains lizards, turtles, snakes and fresh and saltwater fish. The zoo also offers a free-flight aviary, bear grottoes and an exhibit of California sea lions. The children's zoo lets youngsters interact with Nigerian dwarf goats, miniature mules and domestic chickens.
