Inks Lake State Park consists of 1200 acres of recreational facilities adjacent to Inks Lake on the
Colorado River in Burnet County. Inks Lake is a constant level lake located in the Highland Lake Chain (7 lakes) surrounded by granite hills. The park has been used for cattle ranching since the mid-1800's. Culverts and roads in the park were constructed by the
Civilian Conservation Corps.
Visitors enjoy camping, backpacking, hiking, and golf. Activities such as nature walks and geology hikes are conducted on Saturdays in the summer.
