Near the geographical center of Texas, the park is situated on Lake Brownwood. Activities are picnicking, camping, hiking, boating, waterskiing, fishing, nature study, swimming, and bird watching.

Pets are not allowed in any park building. Facilities include restrooms, picnic sites, campsites, launching ramps and a floating boat dock.
