The Magoffin Home, built in 1875 by pioneer Josephg Magoffin, is the only historic house museum in
El Paso. The 19-room adobe homeis a prime example of Territorial style architecture, a style that developed in the Southwest in the mid 1800's. The home is filled with many original family furnishing and decorative arts.
Guided tours provide information on three generations of Magoffins to occupy the home. Information is also provided on Joseph Wiley Magoffin, trader and merchant on the Santa Fe and Chihuahua trails and founder of Magoffinsville, which later became El Paso. A tour fee is charged.
