Meridian State Park

The Civilian Conservation Corps built an earthen dam on Bee Creek, which formed the park's 72-acre lake. The site was acquired and opened to the public in 1935.

Tonkawa and Tawakoni Indians lived in the area before white settlement. The Texas-Santa Fe expedition of 1841 passed nearby. Current activities at the park include camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, and bicycling.
