This is a masonry obelisk 50 stories high. The view from the top is spectacular. In the base of the monument a museum depicts the region's history, from the American Indian civilzation found by Hernando Crotez through the Civil War period. A 42- projector, multi-image slide show depicting the Battle of San Jacinto and the Texas revolution is offered.
