The Heritage Society

Located in Sam Houston Park, this is a historic house museum complex, consisting of seven historic homes and a small wooden church. Exhibits, including the Duncan General Store and a changing exhibit gallery, are housed in the museum gallery.

T he historic structures include the 1847 Kellum-Noble House, believed to be Houston's oldest brick house; the 1870 Yates House, built by freed slaves; and the 1823 Old Place, a rough-hewn log structure said to be the oldest surviving building in Harris County.
