Alta Ski Area

The Alta Ski area is tucked away in the upper reaches of Little Cottonwood Canyon, within the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The resort features a convenient location just 33 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport; taxis, private shuttles and rental cars provide transportation for skiers. A wide variety of terrain offers spectacular scenery as well as unparallel snow conditions; skiers only on the mountain here, no snowboarding permitted. The Alf Engen Ski School offers workshops, adventure programs and private lessons; other amenities include private child care facilities, ski rentals, and many dining opportunities. Lifts include two triples, five doubles, a new double detachable and five surface tows. Open mid-November through mid-April.
