Brandon is a Colonial plantation with gardens extending from the house to the James river. Designed by Thomas Jefferson and built by Nathaniel Harrison in the mid-18th century, the home remained in the Harrison family until 1926. The brick house, the first building on the property, dates to the early 17th century. Brandon is still a working farm.
