Located next to Jamestown, the Original Site, was built in 1957 to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Jamestown's founding. An indoor musuem features a film and three permanent exhibit galleries -- the English Gallery, the Powhatan Indian Gallery, and the Jamestown Gallery. Three outdoor living history areas provide a glimpse of life during the early 1600s. Special events are celebrated throughout the year, including a three-day event held Thanksgiving weekend. Museum and outside exhibits open daily; closed New Year's Day and Christmas Day.
