Left to the city in 1925 by Major and Mrs James Dooley; the 100-acre Victorian country estate on the James River features the 1893 Maymont House furnished with original pieces. The grounds include Italian and Japanese gardens as well as an herb garden, arboretum, nature center, carriage collection, children's farm and native Virginia wildlife habitats. Carriage and tram rides are available. Call for scheduled hours.
