This is where 257 cadets from the Virginia Military Institute aided veteran Confederate troops in victory over Union forces on May 15, 1864. Also on the park grounds is a farm belonging to Jacob and Sarah Bushong dating from the 1860s; eight re-created dependencies are on the property. A brochure covering a self-guided walking tour of the battlefield is available at the park visitor center. Open daily 9am-5pm; closed major holidays.
