Watermen's Museum

The Watermen's Museum in Yorktown began in 1980 while state plans were underway for the four-day celebration marketing the Bicentennial of the surrender of the British to American and French forces, and the end of the Revolution in 1784. The building was refurbished to accommodate the many tools and objects donated by watermen families from many of the Counties surrounding the Chesapeake Bay. Five galleries portray the history of Virginia's watermen.
