The Wilderness Road Regional Museum is located in historic Newbern, Virginia. Newbern had its official beginning March 3, 1810, when Adam Hance laid off 28 lots fronting on the Wilderness Road. Newbern was placed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Some exhibits are regional artifacts, photographs, and furniture. A brochure that details a walking tour of Newbern's historic district is available.
