E. Burke Community Library, serving an area of 1,540 residents, has a collection of 3,900 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 230 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 320 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $6,600. Patrons make 6,900 visits annually, and check out materials 1,400 times. Thirty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
