The Vermont Historical Society is the only institution in Vermont that collects artifacts, books and documents that reflect the entire history of the state and every geographical area. The Vermont Historical Society Museum collects artifacts dating from the pre-contact period to the present for interpretation and research. Using these artifacts, items from the Societys library and loaned materials, exhibitions are presented on different aspects of Vermont history. They are displayed in galleries on the first floor of the Pavilion Building in Montpelier.
