On the Long Beach Peninsula, Loomis Lake State Park was named for Louis Loomis, a shipping magnate who built a grand mansion in the area in the late 19th century.The day-use park features picnicking, surf fishing, driftwood collecting, clamming, beachcombing and hiking.
