Grays Harbor has long been the industrial seaport of Washington's Pacific Coast and Grays Harbor County contains the major population centers of
Hoquiam and
Aberdeen. In addition, there are the resort communities along the sandy spit at the mouth of the harbor, such as
Ocean Shores, and the charter fishing center at
Westport. The
Olympic National Forest covers most of the northwest part of the county.
Montesano has been the county seat for over 120 years.
