Ripon is located in Fond du Lac County southwest of Oshkosh, between Fond du Lac and Montello along Highway 23 near Green Lake, Princeton, and Waupun. Ripon is home to Ripon College, recognized as one of the nations best liberal colleges. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 7,389, an increase of 148 since 1990. Ripon's sister city is Ripon, England.
