Dixon, pop.79, is located in Carbon County. On Highway 70, midway between Baggs and Savery. The distance to the Wyoming state capital is 145 miles. (as the crow flies). The valley was home to many Native Americans before being settled by White Men in the late 1800's. The scenic Little Snake River Valley lies along the Wyoming/Colorado border in Southern Carbon County, Wyoming. The valley, adjoining mountains, and desert areas provides diverse conditions associated with the variations in elevation (10,000 ft. to 6,000 ft.) and precipitation (30 inches to as little as 8 inches) that contribute to the diverse plant communities that support the areas livestock and wildlife populations. Dixon Town Hall, located one block north of highway 70 is listed in the National Historic Register.
