Edness K Wilkins State Park |
Containing 315 acres, this state park was formerly only a rock quarry. One of the most attractive small parks in the state. The handicapped accessible fishing pier, the only one like it in the state, has become one of the finest amenities provided to visitors. An additional 2.8 miles of handicapped accessible hard-surfaced paths provide visitors with an opportunity to view some of the finest wildlife in the area.
This park, day-use only, is six miles east of Casper off of I-25. The park includes a pond with a sandy beach that attracts many people seeking refuge from the heat during the summer months. The North Platte River is a natural habitat for wildlife and canoeing, rafting and fishing are permitted. The park includes three playgrounds, grills, and a launching ramp for rafts and canoes.
