Grand Teton National Park, which consumes 485 square miles, includes the majority of Wyoming's
Teton Mountain Range and the valley of
Jackson Hole. Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and mountain climbing are among the most popular activities. Most boating is allowed on Jenny, Jackson, and Phelps Lakes. Boats and canoes are available for rental.
Float trips down Snake River by rubber raft are available by appointment. These trips offer spectacular views of the Teton Mountain scenery and native wild- life.
Opportunities for mountain-climbing are available in the summer, and climbers are recommended to use the authorized guide services, because of the difficulty of climbing the Teton peaks. The climbing season is usually from mid-June to mid- September. Expect a 2 day ascent of Grand Teton, the highest peak in the park.
