Freetown Village Living History Museum

Freetown Village Living History Museum depicts the lives and lifestyles of free African Americans in the year 1870. It is a symbolic community representing many of the predominantly African American settlements scattered throughout Indiana during the post-Civil War years. Their store features handmade crafts, period toys and games, and variety of hard to find books about African-American history. The evening dinner menu consists of stewed chicken and dumplings, sweet potato pones, smothered cabbage, black-eyed pea soup, white cornmeal hoecakes, and deep dish apple pie.
