Municipal Art Gallery

Located on North State Street, this gallery displays a small collection of contemporary paintings and monthly changing exhibits.

Open Tuesday through Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 2pm-5pm in September through July; closed holidays. The Gallery building, originally built in the 1860's as the stately home of John and Sarah Ligon, stands today as one of the oldest surviving historical structures in Jackson. As the Municipal Art Gallery, it has become a cultural focal point for local artists and attracts 20,000 visitors to the downtown area every year.
