African-American Civil War Memorial |
Located at the junction of 10th and U streets N.W., this memorial is a tribute to the African-American soldiers who served in the Union forces during the Civil War. An 11-foot bronze statue depicts soldiers from the various armed services. Low circular walls bear the names of memebers of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) as well as the names of the white officers who led them.
