Located on Rhoade Island Ave., this church was designed in Renaissance style by New York architect Grant LaFarge. Established in 1840, the church was moved to its present site in 1893. The altar is made of white marble with colored floral insets reminiscent of decorations in India's Taj Mahal. Both the altar and the baptismal font are gifts from India. The work of French and Italian craftsmen is displayed in the faceted windows, frescoes, marbles and mosaics throughout the church.
Guided tours are available Sunday at 2:30pm or by appointment.
