Located on Mount St. Alban at Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues Northwest, this Cathedral is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Completed in 1990 after 83 years of construction, the cathedral is purported to be the sixth largest in the world. The top of its Gloria in Excelsis Central Tower, said to be one of the last towers in the world to contain both a carillon and a 10 bell peal, is the highest point in Washington.
