The Ceret Museum of Modern Art was established in 1950 by artist Pierre Brune, the collection enriched through gifts from artists who had stayed in the town during the first half of the 20th century. Today, following a complete restructure in 1992, the museum offers the public an historic treasure and a showcase for contemporary art, including pieces by Picasso and Matisse, who together gave 53 works and 14 drawings.
