Nestled in the shadow of the church tower in Annappes (one of the three villages that make up Villeneuve d'Ascq), near the Hospice Gabrielle, is the Ferme Delporte which, since 1973, has been home to the Musee du Terroir. The old farmhouse represents the history of country life before the upheavals of urbanization. Perhaps anachronistic in the midst of all the new buildings, it bears witness to the past history of Villeneuve and its rural roots.
