Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge |
Amicalola, a Cherokee word meaning `tumbling waters' is fitting name for these 729 foot falls, which are the highest in Georgia. An 8 mile approach trial leads from Amicalola Falls to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150 mile Appalachian Trail.
Twenty tent, trailer and RV sites as well as a lodge and hike inn are available. Three playgrounds, four picnic shelters, group shelter, ropes course and plenty of hiking trails are featured.
