Boise National Forest

The more than two and a half million acres of Boise National Forest include lakes and reservoirs, abandoned mines, ghost towns, stands of ponderosa pine and Douglas fir. In summer, big game ranges through large areas of the forest.

Recreational opportunities come in many varieties. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are popular in winter, while 900 miles of hiking trails are available for summer use.
