Silver City was established in 1864 and is a well-preserved and interesting ghost town set in the Owyhee Mountains. The Silver City area was a major silver and gold producer, resulting in more than $60,000,000 worth of the precious metals.

More than 70 historic buildings still stand. The Idaho Hotel offers good food and fascinating information on th town and its past.

Visit Silver City between May and September when the snow is gone and the road is open.
