Horseshoe Lake State Park

Only minutes away from St Louis on Highway 111, Horseshoe Lake offers waterfowl, pheasant, and dove hunting; camping, fishing, hiking and cross-country skiing. The 2,850-acre park, which includes a 1,200-acre natural oxbow-shaped lake, was home to thousands of Native Americans who built nearby Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site.
