The Centre & Museum is established in the town's 17th century Market House. The exhibition 'Flax to Fabric' tells the fascinating story of linen production through the ages while visitors can see demonstrations of the mysterious skills of hand spinning and weaving fine linen cloth on original looms. There is also a changing programme of local history and art exhibitions. Admission is free. Open daily, Mon-Sat 9.30-5pm. Linen and crafts shop and caf. 100m from the bus and railway stations with public parks nearby. Full disabled facilities. Tourist Information Centre.
