Cawker City is located in the North Central Region of the state, in Mitchell County. Pop. (2000) 595 Elev. 1,485 feet.
Cawker City also has cargo rail service. And, of course, you can always use a boat and Waconda Lake to get from one boat ramp to another. (NW of Waconda Lake,.(also known as Glen Elder State Park)), the third largest reservoir in Kansas behind Tuttle Creek State Park & Lake and Milford Lake. Waconda Lake extends from just south of Cawker to the dam by Glen Elder eight miles to the east.
