Located one mile northwest of Council Grove, Council Grove Lake is located in the famous Flint Hills region. Known as one of the top outdoor recreation sites in Kansas, the lake has ten developed parks for camping, picnicking, hiking on trails, fishing, and more. There are 3310 acres of water for boating, fishing, and various water activities. There are nine separate parks where camping is provided.
The lake is known for its crappie fishing and cat fishing. Quail, pheasant, prairie chicken, wild turkey, and deer are hunted.
