Located on Craig Creek Road, featured is a tour of the 1798 home of Captain Jack Jouett. On June 3, 1781, Jouett reportedly rode horseback for 40 miles to Charlottesville, Va. to warn delegates of the British invasion. The house contains three rooms with painted fireplace mantels, two bedrooms accessed by a sharply turning stairway, and a stone-lined cellar. Also on display are paintings by Jouett's son, Matthew.
Open Saturday and Sunday noon-5pm, Wednesday 11am-1pm in April through October.
