The Alzette rises near the border of Luxembourg and France (near Esch-sur-Alzette), flows north through Luxembourg City, then empties into the Sure near Ettelbruck. The Alzette is one of four main rivers in Luxembourg; the others are the Sure, the Moselle, and the Our.
