Search Cape Ann Massachusetts

Cape Ann is located in Essex County. At the end of Hwy 128, the land mass jutting out to the Atlantic Ocean from the mainland, unofficially called Cape Ann, consists of Gloucester and Rockport. These communities are separated from the mainland by the tidal Annisquam River. Cape Ann also generally is considered to include the neighboring Essex and Manchester.

Explored by Norsemen in the 11th century, the area first was settled in 1623 by Englishmen hoping to sell fish to Europe.
