Pittsfield State Forest has two camping picnic areas and a swimming beach. Fishermen enjoy Berry Pond, one of the highest natural water bodies in Massachusetts at 2,150 feet.
The area also offers many miles of trails and 65 acres of wild azaleas, which become a very popular attraction when blooming in June.
