Statehouse

Located on the corner of State and Capitol St. This was originally designed by Charles Bulfinch and built of native Hallowell granite. Many additions and changes were made to the graceful portico. Built in the late 1920's the building contains many portraits and an exhibit of battle flags. On this self-guiding tour the interpretive wall plaques designate points of interest.

Open weekdays, business hours. Guided tours offered daily 9-1pm.
