Kidder County

Kidder county is located in central North Dakota with Steele acting as the county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 2,798, a decrease of 534 over the 1990 census.

The county's landscape is dotted with several pothole lakes including Horsehead and Sink Lakes in the north, Lakes Etta and Isabel in the central portion of the county and Lake George to the southeast. In addition, the county can claim about 40% of Long Lake in the southwestern section.
