Adams is located in Gage County south of Lincoln, between Wilber and Tecumseh along Hwy 41, near the Big Nemaha River (part of the Lincoln, Nebraska metro area).
This community was settled by John Q. Adams in 1857.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 445, a decrease of 27 since 1990.
The town was considered officially founded in 1873, when John Adams made generous concessions to the railroad in return for the railroad laying their tracks through town.
